Main Stage

Situated on the St James' side of Leazes Park, in the biggest marquee on the site (which also houses the One World stage on the Saturday), our Main Stage runs on Sunday June 10 from mid-day until 9:40 pm.

The Main Stage features live music from some of the finest emerging and established bands in the North East, and is one of the highlights of the year for the local music scene. Every year the programme features a wide range of musical styles with anything from punk to funk, big band jazz to live drum'n'bass, plus much more . . .

Remember to check out the legendary main stage bar, run by Wylam Breweries which is stocked with fine locally brewed ales. In 2006 the entire area was successfully powered using recycled sunflower oil, in 2007 we are using biodiesel produced from recycled vegetable oil.

Since 2003 the main stage has been co-ordinated by local musician and promoter Richard Owen of Funk Network UK.

Top Green Tips
Britain throws away 8 million nappies a day.  94% of disposable nappies end up in landfill sites and are estimated to take up to 500 years to decompose (The Women’s Environmental Network). They are the largest single item in our bins accounting for about 4% of waste. Yet washable nappies are better for the environment, cheaper, convenient and can save up to £600 for a first child alone.
