Dance Stage

Since it’s humble beginnings as an additional little sound system to the main festival stages on the Sunday afternoon, the stage has gradually built in stature to become the main dance stage for the festival, attracting over 1000 people each year to the outdoor stage.

Hidden away from trouble at the far side of Leazes Park, you can expect to hear music from live acts and DJs taken from Newcastle’s underground electronic music scene: club nights such as Hooked, Freaky Dancing, Influence, Band:X amongst others, showcasing a range of music across the day from dub, through hip hop, electronica, breaks, drum and bass, electro and house, finishing up with some good old techno!

Since it's inception, the stage has been organised by local DJ and producer Chris Littlewood, owner of Disruptive Vinyl record store (www.disruptivevinyl.com) and promoter of techno night Hooked (www.clubhooked.com).

Top Green Tips
20% of the UK’s green house gas methane emissions in 2002 came from kitchen, garden and other waste which was rotting inside landfill sites (Defra). This could be prevented if householders composted their kitchen and garden waste instead of binning it.
