Local Heritage
The Green Festival’s Heritage area is designed to demonstrate a wide variety of local, traditional activities which over the years has included:-
Blacksmithing on a portable forge
Proggy mat making
Woodsmithing, which has included making a number of semi-permanent park installations
Spinning and weaving
Woodman working & chainsaw sculpting, which has resulted in one large, permanent sculpture in the park (just below the lake at the south east end)
Bird and bat-box making
Plus much more every year.

The Heritage area can be found in the center of the park just to the south east side of the lake. Most (if not all) of the activities are open to participation for all (although some may be supervised for safety reason), so why not join in and make something to take home with you?

Top Green Tips
Each UK household produces over 1 tonne of rubbish annually yet less than 30% of us regularly recycle (Defra 2002).  Recycling materials creates jobs, helps conserve resources and uses far less energy than making products from virgin materials.
